Q for Cricket Fans. The current IPL games have brought into lime light many young batting talents like Abhishek Nair, Shikhar Dhawan, Paul Marsh, Venugopal Rao Yusuf Pathan et el.

Q 1) Dont u think these players got this golden opportunity coz of IPL games ?

Q 2) Do u think these youngsters will equally shine in 50/50 one dayers or the conventional 5 days Tests ?

As for me I tthink they have become millionares overnight so they should be thankful to cricket.

Inspite of cricket being so hugely popular in India, specially since 1983, which also coincided with the advent of colour TV a year later, this should have happened much earlier. Popularity was always restricted to international matches, whether test or one day. How many times, we have seen empty stadiums in the various National Championships like Ranji Trophy or Deodhar trophy where the only spectators are a bunch of school boys who have got a free entry and a couple of stray dogs who have managed tosneak into the stadium.

Hard truth is that, unless one got into the national team, you counted for nothing. And once you got discarded from the national squad, one went into oblivion unless they happen to make a miraculous come back.

Now compare this with football, in European countries, Central America and the football crazy South America. There are so many clubs in these countries, that, even if you have failed to make it to the national squad, they continue to thrive at club lev ...more

I would agree. When we have the older "stars", who are hell-bent on hanging onto their place the team till their teeth drop off, IPL did expose the hidden talent that we need to take seriously, imho :)

Given a chance, I'm sure these players would do well to adjust to the type of game and perform to the expectations.

Yes it s great to see youngsters handling stressful situation like seasoned professionals and earn quite a lump some for the same. Lets be optimistic for them even in the 50 overs and 5 days also.
