Elahu Yale was not founder of Yale University. It was Cotton Mather but the money came from Elahu Yale. And Cotton Mather's two room Collegiate School of Connecticut was moved to New Haven some 15 years after it had begun. Details of Elahu Yale as given here are correct except that he was born in Boston but when he was a toddler the Yale family had gone back to England and thereafter he was never an American. A crook he was but a British not an American crook.
