Till now, Mumbai was the only crematorium for pets in India. Now, Banglore becomes the second city in India to get animal crematorium for Rs 1 crore. The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is going to take the initiative to build this crematorium.

Calcutta (Kolkata) has a graveyard for pets. It is named KARUNA KUNJA, run by the Compassionate Crusaders Trust which is a Delhi based organization run by Smt. Maneka Gandhi. I have buried my pet there in February last.
It's not only a pet burial ground but also a large shelter area for destitute dogs and they also shelter home pets whose owners have abandoned them.
