What was the result of interfering in Bangladesh? We made Pakistan our bitter enemy and even Bangladesh is not a very good friend. No govt. interferes in any other countries without a political or economic interest.
So I think it is best not to interfere in any other country\'s personal matters, unless help is sought by that country.

Rajiv\'s assasination is brutal and people forgeting is a National shame.
Tamilnadu Govt. and Tamilnadu political parties just supported LTTE instead of SriLankan Tamils. When the great Leader Prabhakaran turned a despot even without tolerating SriLankan Tamil leaders, he lost his capacity to fight for Tamil cause. Ben Gurien cared for even a single jew\'s blood and united all jews under one banner. Israel was formed. A great chance to form Federal Govt with Eelam as a State with equal rights is lost on account of fighting LTTE and misleading rhetoric of Tamil leaders. When two countries are involved, strategy is more important then selfish interests. China is waiting to make SriLanka a hostile nation against India as Cuba became a hostile nation against USA.

Indira was made of a different substance. you cannot compare her with anybody in the world. and she had what nobody now has-absolute majority. she could do whatever she wanted without any fear of allies withdrawing support. and then pakistan was our enemy and china was not so openly supporting pakistan and taliban was nonexistent and as far as asia was concerned, usa was also not existing then and even after so much differences, india did not confront pakistan but merely supported bangladesh in a major way-a thing permissible under international law!

In Bangladesh, actually India need to crush Pakistan\'s supremacy over Bangladesh (East Pakistan) and create a favourable neighbour for India. That\'s why Indiraji intervened there. But in Sri Lanka the scene is different. India wants better ties with the Sri Lankan government as its a neighbouring country and so India always demand a ceasefire and peace in the country thru negotiations.
