Well Ashaji, I never had been an official Film-columnist, but I have seen this movie as to what extent our Propaganda Psychology of film maker is vested !!!, and more above all ,I like answering your question, as I know that you are in search of a seed of the tree !!
Indian bashing is a normal thing for all the developing countries. WE DEFINITELY ARE NOT A COUNTRY OF SLUM DOGS... Our people including our news channels are all praise for the movie "Slum Dog -millionaire." A small group of Indians are aghast at portraying of begging, eye - plucking, prostitution in slums. They were horrified at the portrayal of India in this slander campaign.
Irrespective of caste , religion one has respect for Neo-Islamic convert( from Hindu Dharm) A.R.Rahman , but he shud think twice associating with projects which try to degrade Indian Identity and has a hidden agenda of trying to divide Hindus,Muslim communally . In future he shud desist from playing tunes to Dollar rich crusading Western-Masters ...more

Detailed analysis given by Prof Arindam Chaudhari in "The Sunday Indian" (He agrees with all those who ave criticised the film, Amitabh Bachchan, Rakesh OmPrakash Mehra, etc.). He says Westerners treat us like slum dogs & we go yapping up to them when they throw a bone in the form of an award. This mentality of absolute subservience, (until the gora says you are good, you are not) has to go. Till then, like it or not, we WILL BE TREATED AS slum dogs, irrespective of whether we are or not.

The films tried to project the extremely contrasting facets of India. The shopping malls and slums are neighbours. Two different lifestyles are slowing like two sides of a river, they will go parallel but never meet.
