This is Neeta replying to your question. These are small towns of Kumaon sharing borders with Nepal. Pithoragarh is known for its 3 different valleys and is also known as Sor Valley because of extreme cold during the winters. Well this was the case years back, now, of course, its not that cold. One can view the Himalayas being 30 kms from the main town. there are highly venerated old temples: teh Thal Kedar and the Dhwaja. These are 1 day trekking. Pithoragarh is also a military station. There is unique tourist destination at 60 kms from Pithoragharh, the cave of Patal Bhuvaneshwar.
