Q.

Karan was born to Gunti. As such he is the eldest of all Pandavas. When Karan came to know about his birth from Gunti, he should have allowed Gunti to disclose the truth as wished by her. Dryyodan could have accepted Karan as the king , so also Yuthishtra. The war would not have occured. Karan has done a wrong. Comment

First of all, Kunti did not want the truth about Karna being her son to be disclosed. If that was the case, she would have approached Bheeshma and told him of the truth.

Also, given the entire chain of events, i do not think that Durodhan would have accpeted anybody other that himself as king. Dhritrashtra and Shakuni promoted him as king, as they wanted power in their own hands. With karna the king, this could have not hapenned.

I am of the opinion that Karna committed many sins and mistakes. But this was not one of them. The war was inevitable.

History, dear josna, does not rest on the shifting sands of ' if ' and ' but.' Likewise, Maharishi Vyas, the greatest of them all, while composing the Mahabharat, wrote in dispassionately and strictly as per the events unfolding in the palaces of Indraprastha, Hastinapur, and later on on the battle field of Kurukshetra. While reading it, one is sorely tempted to side with one character against another, but that is not the way in which history needs to be read and studied. No could, would or should can be allowed to intrude into the realm of history, for, then it would cease to be a faithful compilation of our glorious past and would descend to the level of pulp fiction.

Josnaji, mahabharda teaches us in this world what we should not do.
the war happened due to hundred ill wills, gambling, rude speaking as blind's son, politics, empowerment.
karna was helpless dalit like today in the hand of dirty power hungers.their was no alternative for karna to remain in assossiation with evil.hence he was not wrong.he is charatered as loyal warrior with kind and neat heart.

After duryodhana was captured by the gandharva king chitrasena ( in that war karna jumped out his chariot and ran for his life) in the dwaita vana , he wished to end his life and took up the prayopavesa ( not eating or drinking water). karna and sakuni tried to bring him around but were not successful. so sakuni suggested karna and dussasana to rest for the night and convince duryodhana the next day. during that night duryodhana experienced a state of trance wherein he moved out of his physical body and was taken to patala where a number of asuras were present. they reminded him that they pledged all their hopes on him and infact many aasuric forces have already ready to help him in case of war ( asuras who were born as kings ) . they also promised their power in the war which was inevitable. the next day karna and others saw a motivated duryodhana who returned to his capital. ( he did not disclose the night episode to anyone). karna was an asura in his previous birth called dambhodhb ...more
