Women themselves feel inferior to men, why do karwa chauth to please men, why do women need men to protect them. If one does not change ones social structure or traditions in time then tradegies will occur.

Sorry.Women do not do Karwa Chauth to PLEASE men.They do as they have faith in it.Now you will say why they gave birth to kids,why they do work in the home, why they make food and many other WHY.But they do it for their own may be there are some expections.Please change your mind set if you are not a fake one.

Yes you are right that the women should change their attitude and assert themselves to get equal rights. Yes they have been inculcated such inferiority complex right from childhood as many times even mothers pamper their sons and ignore/neglect their daughters. This change of attitude and awareness can increase only after increase in the percentage of education amongst girls. But if educated girls also believe in stupid things like to have a khaandan ka chirag (wish of educated wife of my friend blessed with two lovely daughters) and religous stupidity then I think may be Karl Marx was right when he said "Religion is the opium of the masses"

Ours is a male dominated society.Besides,the women r biologically marginalised.
