Q.

"Women can finally wear trousers in Paris now..A 200-year-old law that forbid women to wear trousers in Paris has finally been revoked. ....The law required women to ask the police for special permission to "dress as men' in Paris, or risk being taken into custody. "

When in India, Educational Institution ask their girl not to wear Jeans and dress decently.. the Indian Media become LOUD towards Women's Right to dress..

Strange.. We ape Western culture, whereas West do not endorse such culture..

Can you tell me whether the women in Paris were also forbidden to wear mini skirts like jeans and if yes are these still forbidden? Obviously not. The question is not that of apeing the Western dressing style, but that of mindset as to how we look upto women whether as an object of desire or otherwise. And the example of Paris in isolation doesn't constitute the entire West.
