Women aren't really equal?

If women and men are equal, then why do women always seem like they are competing with the man? Just because you have two athletes who are equally matched against one another is no reason for one of them to not strive against the other in competition. Our competitive drive is what causes us to rise above the norm and achieve great or horrible things. I believe when the claim is made that, men and women are equal, it is in regards to certain inalienable rights we, as a people, are all entitled to. Are we really equal? in reality, aren't we different physically, mentally and emotionally? Yes, in those aspects, we are all different, but when you look at it from the overall standpoint, these things equal out. You say, "If we are equal why does a man have to open the door for women?
