Henry Morgan was a privateer i.e. commander of a private warship, not belonging to the British Navy. He was considered a pirate by the Spanish, whom he robbed and pillaged.

Henry Morgan was a Welsh pirate. He was one of the Pirates of the Caribbean., He plundered Spain's Caribbean colonies during the late 17th century. His so called adventures had the support of the British government.

Admiral Sir Henry Morgan (Hari Morgan in Welsh), (ca. 1635 August 25, 1688) was a Welsh privateer, who made a name in the Caribbean as a leader of privateers. He was one of the most notorious and successful privateers from Wales, and one of the most dangerous pirates that lurked in the Spanish Main.
