Kumbha Mela repeating after twelve years at four places is for purification of body, mind and intellect by the auspicious river water. But in this modern age people have polluted it beyond limits.
Going to Prayag to take bath in Kumbh does not bestow on any one God's blessings but efforts to purify water of these auspicious rivers does.
