India is a great country. Its greatness lies in the fact that it has survived for so long. Though under different names but it has always been here, since the time human civilization started. It is the only one of the old civilizations that is still flourishing. I compare India to elephant. It is big and at the same time wise. It goes on its way nonchalant to the barking dogs. While other countries are busy creating problems for others, India is busy solving its own problems, the problem of population, its politics and corruption.

There is nothing wrong with us. The problem lies with those who think there is something wrong with us.

Your question is based on wrong premises. What makes you feel that China does not bother about India? Agreed China is hostile to India. But why China is not hostile to Nepal or Bangladesh or Burma? The answer is that China is not scared of them. For almost throughout their history, China was the most powerful country of Asia. They would surely like to get back to that position. They feel that India may not allow them to get to that position. I am explaining below as to why it is so.
3 of the 10 richest persons of the world are Indians and in the list of 100 richest people of the world, there are many more Indians and China has none. Whatever development has happened in China, it is because of their government and whatever development has happened in India, that has happened in spite of the government. This goes to prove that we are producing talents in abundance and that is happening because of our democracy and free society. In a government controlled society like in China, talents c ...more

India has all those perks but we have ZERO self confidence as a people, and this is not entirely fair to blame the corrupt politicians. In Tamil they have a word called "thatti kekurathu" and we as Indians have ZERO.

We get all patriotic and emotional when we see Kamal Hassan dressed in INA gear take that Indian flag and impale the heart of that nasty colonial police constable who was caning women for not saluting Indias flag but then we don't want out sons or daughters impaling that colonizer. We want Captain Vijaykant to hit corrupt bureaucrats for 4s and 6s but we want our own sons and daughters to "get into as little trouble as possible for sake of family."

If u recall right in India's independence struggle, amongst intellectual classes most favoured a REFORM to British colonialism before World War 2 started. Political outfits like Justice Party of India dominated the scene, and these were not pro independence parties. Only after World War 2 did the intelligensia of India h ...more
