Q.

The arrest of Baba Ramdev who wanted the Govt. to end corruption and declare the black money stashed abroad as national wealth, at midnight was a shameful drama reminiscent of Emergency Days. Since the Govt. itself is corrupt, it launched on a midnight atrocity venture through the police on the supporters of Baba Ramdev which people like Anna Hazare are saying reminds them of Jalianwala Bagh misadventure of British police. Utter disgusting......After forceful evicting from Ramlila Maidan in a midnight operation, Ramdev said that innocent people were treated with barbarism on Saturday night and he faced atrocity for the first time in his life. There was no violence till midnight. So, isn't the law applicable here? How a democratic Govt can crush a peaceful protest which was organised in the interest of the country and the common man. Every right thinking individual in the country will find it hard to believe that the largest and the most ancient democratic country in the world has a government that is throttling the sovergnity and integrity of th ...more

NEW DELHI: With talks breaking down, police swooped down on Baba Ramdev a little past midnight and detained him after firing tear gas shells and resorting to lathicharge on his supporters to end his day-old indefinite hunger strike on black money issue. The dramatic police action came after government and the 46-year-old Yoga Guru had accused each other the previous night of betrayal on mutual assurances.
