Our city is not really a engine of progress instead it is a breeding ground for poverty, crime, violence. In such a scenario it is very difficult maintain a peaceful life. There is no security for the girls in our city and there is a lack of faith in public administration as well in local politician. There must be a change in the sphere of administration. Corrupt, exploitative, crime, violence and the daily activities of the criminals should be dealt with at once.

This link would also form a part of the larger West Island Freeway spanning the entire coastline. The project was initiated more than 10 years ago in 1999 and was inaugurated on 30th June / 1st of July 2009. The sea link carries 8 lanes of traffic with 2 lanes dedicated for buses. Its total length is 5.6 kilometers. Before undertaking the construction the bridge faced following challenges. 1. The foundations of the bridge included 604 large diameter shafts drilled to lengths of 6m to 34m in geotechnical conditions that varied from highly weathered volcanic material to massive high strength rocks. 2. The superstructure of the approach bridges were the heaviest spans in the country to be built with span-by- ...more
