If you are thinking of relying on Govt.'s benefits you had better stick with the present occupation.

THe Govt will give you a ticket to stand in line with multitude of other unemployed and landless farmers waiting for hand outs that never materialise.

Welcome on board! Well, the BEST benefit ALL keralites farmers will agree to is that you can harvest country liquor legally and govt won't bother u lol. Ok, now on to the serious part....
It is not so much the "government" but more so the people- which is what gives Kerala that sort of "legenrary" status (for labourers / farmer folk) and "demonic" status (for the TATA's).
In Kerala, if you don;t get your alloted fertilizer rations on time, you can gather some folks and the govt office will be lined with red flags, and unlike other states, our State govt. doctrine does not allow the police to do a latti charge to make you "go away"- the govt. has to address your concerns.
And you can do the same thing if you didn't get EB etc. given to you as per subsidy rates on time.
In terms of "benefits" as in- 400 kg of rice, 132500 watts of electricity etc- no joke- Central Govt is very anti farmer.
And the raw bene ...more
