Not in muslim countries, where friday is declared a holiday.

Sunday was deemed as a HolyDay for rest and paying obesciance to GOD. The tradition has lived on with a different meaning.

This is followed since the Brirish Raj and still continued after independence. There are different weekly holiday for industrial areas.

Because sunday is a sunny day and hence rest is given ..

actually its fact bcoz in west on a sunny day they go out for beaches etc and hence sunday is prefered so....

Sunday is universal holiday accepted in entire world. Having tough work schedule Monday to Saturday, people gets exhosted and one day need for giving rest to body to work further 6 days.
