However, suicide or the right to take one's own life is not considered to be a right in India. Indian laws for suicide do not accept this argument as the right to die is not part of an individuals fundamental right to life.

It is not considered a crime. The only thing police can do is take the person into protective custody and admit them to a Psychiatric hospital. They never get a ticket, or go to court and it doesn't go on their criminal record.so, no it is NOT a crime.

A person will suicide only when he or she have done something wrong and wants to escape from it or,
they become depressed. but it is not a crime!!!!!!!
