English people changed many pronunciations and this is one among them..

I thinkm the word Ganga was difficult to pronouce for britishers so then name it ganges

It is a big river made innumerable streams and subsidiaries right from its source; so it was named as such by erstwhile britishers , I suppose. Now it is accepted as Ganga in english and rarely ganges is used. Isn't it?
