I thinkm the word Ganga was difficult to pronouce for britishers so then name it gangesAnswered by rajan, 31 May '12 09:07 am
It is a big river made innumerable streams and subsidiaries right from its source; so it was named as such by erstwhile britishers , I suppose. Now it is accepted as Ganga in english and rarely ganges is used. Isn't it?Answered by Om Shrivastava, 31 May '12 06:44 am
