Prior to the 2012 election, Congress had only 22 seats in UP where as SP had 96 seats in UP. Unless there was a major wave favoring Congress, there was no possibility for Congress to win in UP.. Leave alone Rahul Gandhi, even if Mahatma Gandhi had campaigned for Congress they would have at the most got only 50 and odd seats. The actual fight in UP was between BSP and SP. The fact that Rahul Gandhi was sent to UP would have been at least ensure Congress does not get totally wiped out in UP. Some credit needs to be given to Rahul that his campaign probably helped Congress to win an addition 6 seats in this election and increase its seat position in the state assembly.

He is basically an imposter as his name is RAUL ****** as per his passport. There is a need to identify him properly before passing comments on the actual person. Also does he have an Indian passport?

Adarsh Scam, CWG Scam, 2G Spectrum Scam, Anna Hazare, unaffordable price rises, PM's indecisiveness etc are factors of his failure and ofcourse there were hardly any leaders campaigning with him.

Rahul knew well before result came out that Congress could not win more seats in UP as it lacked Charasmatic local leader in UP.So Rahul spoke with anger and synical speech in his campaign.

I think only Rahul factor is not everything for winning election. Each and every citizen of any village, dist, observed the social jobs done by MLA's and Loksabha Member. with this Anna Hazare's bhrashtachar hatao....movement is also an important factor to loose the battle.
