Fasting in islam is not limited to avioing food from dawn to dusk. This is an exercise intended to reform an individual totally.Besides avoiding food, one should avoid all ill habits,blaming,bullying.....etc which doesnot suit the society at large.Quran and prophet had asked people to eat less,ie eat only what is required.Through fasting a person will acquire self control, patience and tolerance.....visit www.islamonline.com and explore more. Thanks for the query,as it is through the continued dialogue and discussions that many misconceptions prevailing in the world as a whole can be removed about islam and muslims.

So, you got your favourite answer. Just try it & then make fun of others.
We are unlike you who drink juices, water, eat fruits. Some just avoid Rice & wheat & say they are fasting.
