Nobody can blame the girl here, she was just doing something out of desperation. But the doctor should b shot, though. However, I do sort of expect everyone to realize that marriage does not mean love, but it means sharing a common home and meeting fixed cost and having enough money to meet a sudden expense.

If u r not able to meet fixed costs, u shouldn't marry. Children aren't expected to know this but people who r going to marry are. I am assuming this girl had some experience on her if she has enough guts to defy her parents and go off w/a guy.

The better alternative was for this girl and guy to go in as a live-in couple.

Consumerist "free choice" societies are quite harsh on people who don't have a lot of money. The "Free" in free market / free choice points more to freedom to exploit more so than freedom to grow.

Though I am saddened by this news, I am hardly shocked. After receiving a live offer from Mumbai to "purchase a Bangladeshi" nothing surprises me here a ...more

The doctor is not a human being, he is a disgrace to doctorhood and humanity. No i would not blame the girl, her circumstance was so difficult, i hope her husband will understand, as for the doctor something horrible must happen to him.

Shame on such doctors, who prey on on the poor to satisfy their lust.
The lady did not appear to have any choice in the matter, and such things do happen.

Here, i find everyone is blaming the doctor and saying lots of nasty things . But i tend to differ.
After all he was the one who saved her husband's life.
Why shoud he do it for free? Yes, he was not a saint but he was also not a criminal or rapist.
If even after using her for 15 days, he hadn't kept his promise, then i would say that he was a bastard etc.
But i would say that what he did was normal . It was a practical thing, may be selfish but from both ends. So, no one is to be blamed.

NO doubt the doctor is scoundral but the girl truely loves her husband and has done compromise to save his life she can not be blamed any loving girl could have gone to any extent to save life of beloved.

If this story is true as you say I seriously doubt that doctor conned the girl in to relationship because 15 days is too long for emergency procedure and also cost of surgery is not really that high even in complicated cases except at overcharging 5 star hospitals.
