Most of us place our right hand on our left chest when we pledge allegiance to the flag, we really should be placing it over the center of our chest, because thats where our hearts sit. Your heart is in middle of your chest, in between your right and left lung. It is, however, tilted slightly to the left!!

Middle and right side of our body is already filled with other spare parts and hence heart finds place in left side of our chest.

Right side is already occupied by lever, space in centre is not good enough for it to contract and expand, hence best place is left side only
