In my state , it was a failure , but we can see the windfarm working in Koodankulam to supplement the powergtrid of Tamil nadu .So, the solar energy emerges as the most preferred renewable souce of energy.solar power is currently prohibitive due to high initial costs of deployment. To spawn a thriving solar market, the technology needs to be competitively cheaper, tht is attaining cost parity with fossil or nuclear energy. In 2007, our installed capacity of solar power was 1700MW as compared to the total power generation of 130,000 MW. India ranks 7th in the world in the production of solar Photo Voltaic cells. (as per 2007 report). Most probably, India is the only country in the world ...more
