There is a likelihood that such a provision might encourage MURDER after ra#pe.
Because if rap#ist is caught, he cud be hanged. The chances of being caught and crime proved...... is much HIGHER if the victim is left ALIVE.
Besides, death penalty is being stopped in more and more countries now.
Our main problem is NOT severity of punishment but insensitive investigation and bad justice delivery system. These have been addressed by Verma commission.
