It is very difficult to compare any sport person. see dear some people like Pete and some people like Roger , and all the five fingers are not the same. As Rod Laver puts it in different generation, different people come and conquer. in previous generation, there was wooden raquet were used and in this generation many techniques were adopted and in those days there were service and vollyes but in present generation, it is mere power so it is very difficult to compare any sportman from the past era to present era. and moreover, playing conditions are also different comparing to those of previous generation. every sports person who ever big they may be champions and was regarded as a great sportsperson indeed. even though Roger won 15 grand slam title and broke the record of Pete , it is very difficult to say who is great and hence i do not think comparison should be made. it is asking which eyes are great, right eye or left eye.

In the starting in looked so, but I feel Sampras had a more solid game, a great serve and volley and a lot of stiff opposition as compared to Federer. Federer is more talented but he looks vulnerable many times. Like yesterday in the finals , all through Roddick was the better player but just luck eluded him.

No. Pete had tougher opponents than Roger, like Andre Agassi,Petr Korda,Tim Henman,Boris Beker,Todd Martin, yet at that time noone was near to Pete.No of title never matters, the domination over opponents matters, and in this prospect Pete is better. Roger doesn\'t have a good performance against Nadal.

Rogger Fedrer is one of the best tennis player of current generation and yesterday he has won Grandslam for record 15th time by overtaking the legendry Pete Sampras. But i don\'t think he is better than Sampras, although he overtook him. Records are always fpr breaking and the person who set the first record is always as valuable as the person who broke it......Sachin Tendulkar also scored more runs than the legendray Don Bradman, does it make Badman a low profile player ?? I still rate Pete Sampras as the Better Player than Fedrer and cool player as well.

Certainly NOT. In the generation that each of these guys live, their achievements are OUTSTANDING. Also some achievements like 15 GRAND SLAMS are quite an achievement in themselves. Newer and newer players will be hailed in the future as the GREATEST OF THEM ALL, or ALL TIME GREATS ... it means that this is true at the point in time ... certain achievers like Rod Laver can never be surpassed.
