All objects in the Universe are subject to their own force of gravity. As gravity pulls matter towards other matter, a sphere forms. Only a sphere allows every point on its surface to have the same distance from the centre, so that no part of the object can further 'fall' toward its centre.

A good question after a long lapse. As all objects are artificialy, naturaly or accidentaly formed no barricade for shape size and out of which matter it is produced at that point of situation. When debries from satalites or idle freely traveling masses reaches earth 's sepation point, due to friction various shapes of debries reaches earth. But differently are the vegetable shapes and things like ice cubes and its splinters forms. But still earth's gravity plays an important place in shape formations.
