Firstly, the term 'friends' cannot be used for the ones who are not loyal. But yes, what can we do otherwise?Whom shall we call as friends then?If we start counting the no. of loyal friends, may be we shall be left with one or may be none. But also, the bitter truth is that we live in this society and we have to accept people as they are.We have to see whether we are not failing to be loyal towards our friends, otherwise what will be the difference then?If we try to find out deeply the reasons behind this lack of loyalty,we'll find that its mainly due to jealosy, ego problems, lack of trust, madly increasing competition in all the fields, insecurity and so on.......

For a person valuing friendship for its sake, there is no expectation. No question of loyalty, or its absence for him. If through friendship some selfish desires are entertained, their absence might be construed as absence of loyalty, reducing the status of true friendship. Let us have an introspection and find about our assessment of true friendship objectively before coming to this conclusion.
