Why minimum amount is Rs.5000/10000 for opening a SB account in HDFC Bank?

Itz a private bank...apart from maintaining only the CRR ( Cash Reserve Ratio ) as per the RBI mandate, they never oblige to or entertain other RBI guidelines like the Nationalised Banks....and opening of a SB account with higher minimum balance with just 4.5% of simple interest is another policy of those Private banks .... U can't challenge them in a court of law.....

I am yes bank saving account holder and saving value is just 5000 you can think for Yes bank

Because that is the minimum balance they want in one's SB account.It is a private Bank.

This can be answered only by sbi managers even hdfc bank and icici banks want the same minimum amount in savings it is rs 10000 minimum for both banks
