At first place, it makes difference whether he is declared officially as a PM candidate or not. No body will challenge him post-election, if at all they win and all they want now is block BJP from power.

Who wants to be a PM candidate for loosing party? If Cong. get three digit seats, that itself is going to be an achievement.
