Krishna means black in Sanskrit. Actually, Lord Krishma is not blue but black( what in hindi we say 'saanvla').
Though in pictures he is depicted in blue colour because black would not look good.
Whereas another popular theory is that Lord Krishna, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is 'Anant'(endless, never ending).
Now when we see in nature, the seas, the sky, the oceans all are endless. They too are blue in colour. So Lork Krishna is also depicted as blue to show that he too is endless.

Krishna we know is a mythological character. A real person with similar qaulities might have lived, but what we know is the character shaped by the imagination and genius of the Author. It is not just Dravidians who were here before Aryans came. There were many small tribes and other races!
