To prove that life is not permanent and this jiva has to one day reach the lotus feet of Lord Narayana.

The earth is called mrutyu loka.who ever is born here is bound by death. Even sri Ram and krishna had to die.Parikshit is not an exception. He was also born with fixed life span which ended at the time he died. The curse was just an excuse for his death, just as krishna himself abided by the curse of the rishi for death. Paeikshit went to vaikuntha the abode of lord vishnu as is promised to the true and ardent listners of shrimad Bhagavatam. The age of Kali began at the end of the reign of Parikshit. The whole episode of sepant bite was enacted by Kali who had taken over the reign from parikshit.God does not intervene in yuga dharma as you are seeing even now. Kali is age of darkness and man will continue to become more and more ignorant of god and his grace.Atheists and scientists will claim that there is no God and all acts are controlled by man. People will become more and more animalistic in nature.ultimately it will be complete rule of ignorance or aviveka.

If krishna can't save the life of persons like parikshit who devotedly heard krishna's past times with faith , then what he can do for normal persons like You & me .? What is the use of reading those scriptures after all we are going to die like him . Isn't bhagavatam misguiding the readers .....
Theists , kindly dont mistake me for asking this , me too inspire and devoted to krishna , but at same time its fair question that arising in everyone's mind those read the story parikshit . god duty is to protect his devotee at any cost . if that not , then what is use of awarding heaven or liberation after being suffered in this earth
