Usually, cloudless nights are colder than cloudy nights. This is because cloud cover in the night prevents the heat (near the surface) from escaping into space; on the other hand, cloudless night allows the heat to escape reducing the night temperature..This is true in the case of deserts as there is no cloud cover over the desert due to absence of enough moisture in the air.Rajasthan is a semi-desert as it lies in the rain-shadow area of the Aravalli Mountain Range.Naturally the difference between day and night temperature will be more.
