Mr Pandey,
Steel Majors like Tata Steel(topped 500),SAIL(topped 186) & Jindal(topped 2700),are all over-valued.
The Steel Ministry is considering Proposals to impose Anti-Dumping Duty on Cheap Chinese Steel&
restrict Exports of Iron Ore & Coal[Massive Negative for Indian Mining Majors like Sesa Goa/NMDC,etc].
These moves if they go forward are massive pluses for India focussed Steel Majors like these three.
But if they don't? currently we are faced with a 25% Over-capacity in Global Steel Industry& thats
forcing the biggest Steel Producers globally to cutting Prices on finished products to the tune of
35-40%,like POSCO,Baosteel and
Nippon Steel,so to expect Earnings to rise back to the levels in 2007-2008 seems foolhardy.Plus ...more
