Passive smoking is the inhalation of smoke, called second-hand smoke (SHS), or environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), by persons other than the intended 'active' smoker. It occurs when tobacco smoke permeates any environment, causing its inhalation by people within that environment. Exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke causes disease, disability, and death

N adults, second-hand smoke causes serious cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, including coronary heart disease and lung cancer. In infants, it causes sudden death syndrome. In pregnant women, it causes low birth weight.

Because if the smoke inhaled is confined only to the lungs of the smoker, than no issue for non-smokers. But smoke exhaled by the smokers, pervades the atmosphere with all its 300 chemicals and stink ... non smokers are forced to inhale it!! That's the issue ...
