Already this instigating feeling and trying to impose by certain political leaders has brought in lots of problems to the people of other states over there. So let us not ask questions on such topics which is not accepted in good taste in general!!!!

On paper, any Indian is free to purchase a house and live in any part of the country except the state of J & K. However, this situation exists only on paper. A few days ago, I happened to ask a friend from Shimla whether, being a Mumbaikar, it was possible for me to purchase a house in Shimla if and when I had the required amount to do so and he flatly refused saying that only those hailing from Himachal Pradesh were allowed to own land and property in H.P. Furthermore, he surprised me by saying that if any govt. in H.P. were to let " outsiders " own land in that state, the Marwaris from Mumbai would soon swarm over the locals and drive them out of H.P. So much for our "right " and "freedom." This being the case, you must recognise the aspirations of the local people if they assert their right to the premier city in our country. Majority of marathi people live in Maharashtra, but not the state is for maharashtrians n people from different states can live there.
