anyways .....he had 16108 wives. he didnot aquired them after "killing their husbands or fathers or as booty ". they all wanted to be his wives and were granted that status because of their true love and devotion towards Krishna.

It is good that you have asked this question because there are many people who have a genuine query about this. I am attempting to address such persons through your question.
There is a lot of symbolsm involved when we try to understand stories related to the Hindu religious history. The basis of my answer is Shiv Yog
(1) Traditionally husband has been considered as master of the wife (2) Here Krisna represents the soul who is the master of 16008 shaktis (channels of energy in human body. Therefore these shaktis are also called Krishna Nadis) (3) The 16008 ranis (queens) of Krishna represent these nadis (or chanels of energy)
(You can see the interplay of sounds when you alternately pronounce rani and nadi)
The Lord's 8 principal queens represent the seven chakras of the body plus the aura that surrounds it (Rukmaniji repersents that aura)

He married rukmini,jaambavathi,satyabhama,mitravinda,nagnajiti,bhadra,kalind i and lakshmana who were his 8 wives.after killing narakaasura he saved 16100 princesses from captivity whom he married. but he hand another girl friend kubja thru whom he had a son. vyasac clearly mentioned in his bagawatham. this happened when he visited her after the kamsa vadha, keeping uddhava as the gaurd krishna agreed to spend a night with kubja who originally was an ugly hunch back but was converted to an extremely beautiful girl by krishna's touch. in all krishna had these wives and thru them several 1000 of children. all of them died at the drunken brawl . krishna saw them getting killed but that was the climax of his leela.

He had 16108 wives in total.But he had 8 main wives and 16100 other wives.His 8 main wives were-Rukmini,Jaambavathi,Satyabhama,Mitravinda,Nagnajiti,Bhadra,K alindi and Lakshmana.He killed a rakshaka Naarakasurahe and saved 16100 who had a wish of marring lord krishna,so he had atotal 16108 wives
