Show me evidence of genocide. Show me some mass grave sites. Show me evidence of normal Tamils being excluded from daily life in Sri Lanka.

There was never really genocide in Lanka, as the LTTE likes to say. But is it a paradise for Tamils in Lanka? No, it is a hell. But it has to do w/ culture shock....

Sri Lankan law & society works differently from Indian, and many Tamils run into problems here in Lanka. In India, we don't have a "central identity." We identify ourselves here mostly w/ our native state and perhaps our regional language (Ex: Gujrati, Tamilian etc) and we're collectively called Indians. Lanka doesn't work that way.

EVERY community in Lanka is EXPECTED FULLY to adopt to a central identity which dominates all part of their public lives. Tamil community tends to resist this assimilation & unification push the most.

To a Tamil, he feels like the Lankans are humiliating him by making him give up his Tamil culture & way of life....and India gives a LOT of imp ...more

We have no business to interfere in sri lanka unless we are prepared for interference in our disputed conflict ridden regions like j&k for example.

Genocide is shameful whether it is tamils in srilanka or hindus in pakistan and bangaldesh and other communities all over the world. the world has still not forgotten the killing of 6 million jews during hitler\'s rule. the north east has been crying for attention for years but did we bother. that is why the ULFA has now a upper hand. we only remember them during elections. same with andaman and nicobar islands. so let us first start thinking of ourselves as an indian first and raise our voices against injustice that happens in any part of our country. total involvement without region bias only will bring about a change in the mentality
