Do you remember the pony-tailed Patrick Rafter, the benevolent Australian tennis Grand slam winner, who donated he entire prize money of a mens' singles champion in a grand slam event to a children's welfare project? He was so modest that when asked to comment about the reason for his victory, he said - it is not my victory alone. Luck has played a big part. Not much. It is a psychological booster. Those who depend on luck, always fail. When some one fails after efforts, he consoles himself by saying bad luck, and then tries to forget. The word gives solace, so we all use it.
