Then you have not been following his umpiring standard in the last 2 years. He has become inept and rank useless and really unfit to stand in for international matches. But ICC politics makes it possible for such people to be retained on the panel based on voting strengths of certain blocks

There should be ICC ratings for umpires also
All playing nations should vote for this ratings
Then grade them as A B C D etc
This will surely work wonders
