The prime minister (MMS) is pro-liberalisation, while Sonia Gandhi is playing a pro-people and Centre-to-Left politics by raising issues of the aam aadmi.

This Congress has the same capacity to change its colours according to the changes in time.
This Congress is at the centre of the ideological spectrum.
Some Congressmen do move Left, some move to the Right.
Most people wait in the centre to find out -- Left or Right, which force will dominate and then they sing with them.

PM is not pro liberalization, he can only work with what the ruling cabinet members and his deputies delegate....and playing populist politics is nothing new. It is a part of Indian political life ever since GOd knows when...........

During BJP rule., Dr. Vajpayee was all about the SWADES but the BJP government still sort of did not so swades things like disinvest in life saving national industries....and screwing over farmers by cutting their PDS & CMP provisions, just as Mr. Atal was talking about "Swades" in rally a few hundred meters away....

This is nothing new Aakash,
