As Modi keeps harping on the so-called rapid growth of Gujarat, he has conveniently forgotten to mention the massive debt that the state has collected in the past ten years. The debt of Gujarat has actually more than doubled over the decade during Modis rule. Its not just the debt but a consistent rise in the figure also means that the state has to pay an increasing amount of interest on it. Most of the states revenues are engaged to alleviate the debt issue or related interests. This makes it even worse for the common man in Gujarat. Under the guise of development and social schemes, the Modi government has amassed huge volumes of money. However only a fraction of it has been put to any use for the development of the state. This goes to show the extent of mismanagement of funds by the State Government and the lavish use of money to appease Narendra Modi. From utsavs to fasts, this money has been utilised for everything other than the development of the common Gujarati.

Why the US stand to be the most debt ridden country in the world? Why large corporates offer the "stock" to raise money, every now and then? Ambanis are in great need of money why? Answers to these questions goes a long way to substantiate as why a promising State like Gujarat needs more money, not for spending, but for investments, dear. States growth stands testimony, to this effect.
