It's been said that dogs do not like the silence that overwhelms the countryside after the sun goes down. Others believe that it's their way of warding off evil spirits.

It's believed that dogs alone can see spirits and ghosts, when they wander during midnight, and so dogs do bark and howl sometimes...!
