Sachin Tendulker is a devoted and successful pupil of Shri Ramakant Achrekar, who won 13 silver coins from his guru. His utmost reverence, dedication and devotion to his guru made him a successful cricketer. Do you know any such example of teacher-student relationship from real time?
Don't know whether you have read works of Kottarathil Sankunni, mainly "Aithihyamaala". There is a story of one simpleton becoming a master curer of snake bite poisoning by religiously chanting his guru's curses "Viddi kooshmanda" mistaking the words as the mantra. I think no names of this weird guru and sishya are mentioned in the story. But, the story has a very good moral. (If possible, read the entire book.)
