Q.

Why do urban multiplex audiences spend thousands on the so-called "Mindless Masala films" every weekend and yet come on social media and keep weeping about how mediocre Indian cinema is? Slave mentality or pure Hypocricy?

After crushing mind & body for a week, it can not take any more burden of seriousness.
After taking those craps in movies hall, it has to be let out by cribbing to make room for next week activities.

I dont do that. once money is gone , its gone for good. i last spent about rs.one thousand for a family of five to watch chennai express. i enjoyed it despite many calling it a crap. it was a clean family entertainer.
once in a while an outing for the family is required and we must understand , we are not spending for the movie. if need be we can get a cd - a pirated one fr rs. twenty and watch it ... but we must also understand we are spending for the family. its a small reward for he wife who has to put with the daily chores of home and a small reward to the husband who has to put up with the touch tasks at work and a small reward to the children who put huge efforts for the education. so the money spent is for family and not the movie.
