We have Easter midnight masses in the churches. After the mass or on Easter night, dances/balls are organised for merry making.
Easter is celebrated to mark the resurrection (rising from the dead) of Lord Jesus Christ. This year Easter is on 4th April (Sunday). Midnight mass will be on Saturday night.

Easter marks the Resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ three days after his Crucifixion.
Sandwiched between the 40 preparatory days of Lenten penitence and the seven weeks of Eastertide, According to the Christianity, those who believe in Him will live for eternity in Heaven.

Easter Sunday falls on April 4 of this year for both the Western Church and the Eastern Church, a rare concurrence.

Easter is generally celebrated as follows:-
* Attend an Easter vigil, when baptisms take place, Alleluias are said for the first time
since the beginning of Lent and the Paschal candle is lit.
* Decorate your home and church in white and gold, the colors of Easter.
* Wear new clothes to represent a new beginning, especially an Easter bonnet. ...more

Easter is an ancient holiday that is celebrated in many countries. For Christians, it is the commemoration of the death and rebirth of Jesus Christ, who was crucified on the Friday before and arose from the dead and ascended into heaven on Easter Sunday. However, Easter has deep roots and traditions that go back well before Christianity...!

Easter -- the resurrection of Jesus -- the first of its kind. We too will, one day.

The resurrection power is in every believer in Christ. They do extraordinary things for God and people.

The greatest event is the resurrection of Jesus. People thought they killed Jesus and it is over. But He was victorious over death.
