Q.
Wouldn't the Nano be the perfect vehicle to replace the autorickshaws.?
Its small, its affordable and certainly more comfortable and safer. Also, not having the jutting wheel outside will force the rickshaw drivers to follow rules as cutting lanes will no longer be simple.

I shudder to think about the traffic / parking chaos with this cheap car rolling out on Indian roads. Mumbai will certainly have more jams.
Dear EmM, with trains, buses choco blocked with over flowing crowd, I guess we will have to paddle our bycyles in future...

Yup Im thinking on same lines. For a city like Mumbai we can definitely do away with the rickshaws and have Nano cabs. As for cutting lanes well its not just rickshaws but almost evryone indulging in the same. All in all a sea change is indeed required in getting driving sense in India

I agree with you 100% on this. Autos should be phased out in the next 3 or so years
