Different types of birds have developed different leg shapes and lengths to suit their needs. But, all birds have two legs used for sitting, walking, hopping or running.

Well, the bird is kind of old now. If he was never tame it's going to be a task. If he was tame before then it'll be a little easier. Ok, first of all, take a few days and set it aside where you can spend ALL day for two-three days with him. Take him out of the cage...sorry, you'll have to let him attack you lol. Clip his wings. What this is going to do is make him dependent on you. If he is biting then swaddle him in a towel so that he can't move...like you would swaddle a baby. Then in fifteen minute increments scratch his head while he is toweled. When he seems to calm down and allow you to scratch his head without biting, then let him out of the towel and onto your finger. When he bites, towel him again. keep doing this until he calms down and will sand on your finger without biting you. Once you can get him to stand on your finger without biting then start working on stepping up. Take your finger and touch him right above his legs on his chest this will usually mak ...more
