Tyres are made of rubber since rubber enables a good grip and contact between to the ground. They also provide a comfortable ride, are robust and hard-wearing, and enable controlled manoeuvrability.

Less ware and tare, long lasting, shock absorbing capacity, can take grips on concrete as well as tar roads, need not be made completely of rubber as air inside the tyre filled in tube can handle very high pressures unlike in railways where entire wheel has to be made up of iron which increases the cost .....
